Maintaining a Lead

  1. Select Menu > Sales & Marketing > Lead > Search.
  2. Enter your search criteria in the Lead Query zone.
  3. Click Refresh.
  4. In the search results list (not applicable if Lead ID is specified in the search criteria), click the link for the lead you want to view maintain. The selected lead opens in the Lead portal.
    Note: You may also navigate to the Lead portal by clicking on the appropriate lead from various portals and zones. Examples include:
    • Sidebar Portal: Alerts zone
    • Initiative Portal: Initiative Leads zone
    • Sales Representative Portal: Initiative Leads zone or Initiative Lead Events
  5. Click the appropriate record action button:
    Buttons that appear when the lead is Pending:
    • Edit – Click the Edit button to allow you to edit the main attributes of the lead. When you click Save, the system updates the record.
    • Delete – Click the Delete button and click OK to delete a pending lead from the database. Before you delete a lead, the system verifies that the lead is not referenced anywhere in the system. If it is, you cannot delete it.
    • Activate – Click the Activate button to transition a pending lead to the active state. When a lead is activated, lead events for the lead are created to encourage the customers to participate in the initiative.
    Buttons that appear when the lead is Active:
    • Editsee the description above.
    • Discard – Select the Discard button to inactivate an active lead. Select a Status Reason indicating why the lead is being inactivated and click Save. The values are maintained on the Status Reason control table
    • Complete – Click the Complete button to indicate that an active lead has been successful.
    • Sign Up – Click the Sign Up button to initiate a script that is defined on the Initiative’s business object. The base package script C1-IntvSignU reevaluates the customer to determine if they are still eligible to participate in a program, indicates the customer has signed up or enrolled on the lead and creates a third party lead event (if applicable) to notify the relevant third party of the actions to be performed. The Response Channel on the lead is also updated for analytical purposes

  6. Click the Add Notes button, in the Notes zone, to capture additional information for the lead.
  7. The Third Party Event Zone displays third party lead event (if any) details along with the steps involved in the lead event
