Understanding Consumer Product Components

Consumer product components group together product attributes and consumer contract rules.

Consumer product component eligibility criteria rules can be created for a consumer product component. These eligibility rules will determine if a consumer product component’s product attributes are applicable and if a consumer product component’s consumer contract rules are applied. A consumer product version could, for example, have one consumer product component that is eligible when a customer is on autopay and another consumer product component that is eligible when a customer is not on autopay.

A consumer product component can, optionally, have one or more child consumer product components. This allows consumer product components to be organized into a hierarchy. If a consumer product component is not eligible, any child consumer product components will also not be eligible.
