Customer Contacts Are Used To Record Notifications

Notification types may reference a customer contact type that is used to create a record of notifications of that type. This is supported for both message-based and template-based notifications. Refer to Template-Based vs. Message-Based Notification Types for more information.

Customer contacts create from template-based notifications contain more notification details and support an integration that updates the customer contact with information from an integration system such as Oracle Integration Cloud and also from the system responsible for delivering the notification. Customer contacts may also be added and updated by an integration system to record notifications initiated from an external system such as outage notifications that originate from a network management system.
