Configuring Measurement Reprocessing

This section describes the process for configuring Measurement Reprocessing.

Activity Type Configuration

Configuration for Measurement Reprocessing is performed by adding or changing an Activity Type. You can access the portal by selecting Admin, Communication, Activity Type.

Once the Activity Type search screen returns, locate the following records:

  • Measurement Reprocess Activity - Interval: this Activity Type handles measurement reprocessing for interval Measuring Components.
  • Measurement Reprocess Activity - Scalar: this Activity Type handles measurement reprocessing for scalar Measuring Components.

Use the Add button beside the record to configure for the first time. If a record has already been added, then click the Edit button instead. Use the embedded help to guide you through the meaning of each configuration field. By adding these Activity Types you are activating the process within Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management that will monitor changes to either the Measuring Component multiplier (the Register Multiplier for register measuring components or Channel Multiplier for interval and auto-read register measuring components) or the Install Event’s Installation Constant or Installation Date/Time. If any of these attributes change for a device, then a new Activity will be created that attempts to reprocess the measurements for the affected period.

Algorithm Configuration

The Detect Installation Constant Change for Install Event (D1-DETIECHG) algorithm detects changes to install events, including changes to the Installation Constant, changes to the Installation Date/Time, and creation of new install events whose date range includes preexisting measurements and which include a change to the Installation Constant. When the algorithm detects a change to any of these, it initiates measurement reprocessing.

The "Ignore Install Event Date Changes" parameter can disable automatic initiation of measurement reprocessing in the event of changes to the Installation Date/Time.

The "Ignore New Install Events" parameter can disable automatic initiation of measurement reprocessing in the event of a new install event being created with a date range that includes preexisting measurements with a different Installation Constant.
