New Features Summary
The following new features were included in this integration:
Customer Opt-out Notification
Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service allows users to now configure program types that allow enrolled customers to pre-emptively opt out of events. When a customer receives an advanced notification that their device is reserved for an upcoming event, they can contact the utility’s contact center to opt out via phone or email. The contact center agent can facilitate the opt out using the new Opt Out button on the Customer Enrollment Insight zone in the Customer Program Summary portal.
This integration facilitates sending out the device opt-out notification from Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service to Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System to ensure the opted-out device is not included in the event, and the event’s viability can be re-evaluated.
Customer Unavailability Notification
Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service allows a utility program manager to configure programs such that the enrolled customers are allowed to notify of their unavailability to participate in the events. Typically, the customers enrolled on a program will call or email a utility’s contact center to inform that they will be unavailable for participating in any events for a specific date/time range. The contact center agent can use the new Schedule Unavailability button on the Customer Enrollment Insight zone in the Customer Program Summary portal.
This integration allows sending the notification about a device’s unavailability from Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service to Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System. This message will instruct Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System to exempt the device from being reserved for any upcoming events during the specified period of unavailability.
Head End Registration Status Update
Adding a device to a customer's program enrollment requires registering that device with the head-end system. This is true whether it's a new customer enrolling for the first time or an existing customer adding another device to their current subscription. Whenever a customer unenrolls from a program, or a device is replaced, that device must also be deregistered from the head-end system. Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System facilitates the registration and deregistration via communication through Oracle Utilities Live Energy Connect. It consolidates and creates a comprehensive response to a customer asset synchronization request, including a message-level acknowledgment and the head registration status for each individual device included in the original request.
This integration facilitates the sending of a new acknowledgement response message to customer asset synchronization request from Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System to Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service. The processing of this information automatically updates each device's Head End Registration status flag to either 'Registered' or 'De-registered' accordingly within Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service.
Note: The old acknowledgement flow which did not support device level head-end registration status is being deprecated, and users must ensure that the necessary changes are done on the applications to enable new acknowledgement flow so that old one is no longer used.
Enrollment Sync Enhancements
Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service now allows assigning entity groups to devices based on their program affiliation, device technical specifications and rate class. Among other grouping considerations, this is a key criterion to be evaluated within Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System to be used while selecting devices for an event. Network Address is the other new identifier that is captured for a controllable device within Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service to facilitate device communication.
This integration allows Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service to include the entity group identifier and the network address as part of the customer asset sync request and send it to Oracle Utilities Edge Distributed Energy Resources Management System for further processing.
