The Lifecycle of an Initiative

The following diagram shows the possible lifecycle of an Initiative:

The Initiative lifecycle is comprised of the Pending, Active, Accumulate Statistics, and Inactive states. An initiative starts in a Pending state. A user can manually transition an initiative to the Active state, resulting to leads generation. The user or system may transition an active initiative to a periodically transitioning Accumulate Statistics state. A user can manually move the initiative to the Inactive state to temporarily or permanently deactivate it.

Pending state: An initiative starts out in a pending state.

Active state: An initiative is transitioned manually by a user to the active state. Leads can only be generated for an initiative in an active state.

Accumulate Statistics state: A user or the system may transition an active initiative to a periodically transitioning accumulate statistics state. During this state, statistics for the initiative are accumulated prior to returning back to the active state.

Inactive state: An initiative may be transitioned manually by a user to the inactive state when they want to deactivate the initiative either temporarily or permanently. A user can manually place the initiative back to the active state from the inactive state.
