Condition Assessment Class

Assessment classes are used to group and manage a set of similar assets (for example, bridges can be an assessment class and hydrants can be another assessment class, and so on) using their asset type. Each assessment class is managed according to a set of inspection criteria and are used to define an inspection rating system for inspections. The purpose of this rating system is to measure the deterioration of the assets and the effect of the deterioration on the service levels that are expected of the asset.

An assessment group identifies a grouping of classes in order that the assets associated with those classes can be scored and weighted against other assets of that type. Service history types defined specifically for condition assessments can also be defined on the assessment group record and associated to the assessment class.
