Configuring Itron FCS Extendable Lookups
This section outlines some of the extendable lookups that must be configured for use with the ItronField Collection System adapter. Refer to the Oracle Utilities Application Framework documentation for more information about working with extendable lookups.
Note: In the descriptions below, references to "the system" are references to Oracle Utilities Meter Solution applications, including Meter Data Management, Smart Grid Gateway.
Meter Read Download Extendable Lookups
The following extendable lookups are used when creating meter read download files to be sent to FCS.
FCS Customer Special Code Mapping
The FCS - Customer Special Code Mapping (D1-CustomerSpecialCodeMapLkup) extendable lookup is used to map special customer codes used in Itron FCS to specific flag settings. These flag settings are used to provide warnings of potential hazards to employees in the field. Note that a single value for this extendable lookup can contain multiple mappings. Values for this extendable lookup include the following:
-
Customer Special Code Mapping: Mappings between special codes and related flags.
- Special Code: The special code for the mapping.
- Priority: The priority for the mapping.
- Beep Flag: A flag that indicates (True or False) if an audible "beep" warning should be issued for the code.
- Vibrate Flag: A flag that indicates (True or False) if a vibration warning should be issued for the code.
- Flash Screen Flag: A flag that indicates (True or False) if visible flashing warning should be issued for the code.
FCS Read Type
The FCS - Read Type (D1-FCSReadTypeLookup) extendable lookup is used to map specific details to read types defined for FCS meters. Note that a single value for this extendable lookup can contain multiple mappings. Values for this extendable lookup include the following:
-
Read Type Mapping - FCS Mapping Information: Mappings between read types
and meter configuration details.
- Read Type Code: The read type for the mapping
- Text Prompt: The value of the textPrompt value
- Read Type Description: A description of the read type (such as "KWH")
- Read Methods: The method used to perform the read on this meter (such as "Manual" or "Mobile Meter Read")
- Number Dials: The number of dials on the meter
- Number of Digits Right: The number of decimal values
- CIS Division: The CIS Division associated with the read type
FCS Meter Type Register Group Mapping
The FCS - Meter Type Register Group Mapping (D1-MeterTypeRegGrpMapLookup) extendable lookup is used to map device configuration types to specific details concerning the meter type. Note that a single value for this extendable lookup can contain multiple mappings. Values for this extendable lookup include the following:
-
Meter Type Mapping: Mappings between device configuration types and meter
type details
- Device Configuration Type: The device configuration for the mapping
- Read Methods: The method used to perform the read on this meter (such as "Manual" or "Mobile Meter Read")
- Number Dials: The number of dials on the meter
- Number of Decimals: The number of decimal values captured on meter readings
- Meter Type: An FCS code for the meter type
- Register Group: An FCS code for the register group
FCS Rate to Hi-Low % Mapping
The FCS - Rate To Hi-Low % Mapping (D1-RateToHighLowMappingLookup) extendable lookup to map FCS rate codes to maximum and minimum usage levels (labeled H1, H2, L1, and L2). Note that a single value for this extendable lookup can contain multiple mappings. Values for this extendable lookup include the following:
-
Rate High to Low % Mapping: Mappings between rate codes and high/low
usage levels
- Rate Code: The FCS rate code for the mapping
- H1%: The percentage that represents the "H1" usage level
- H2%: The percentage that represents the "H2" usage level
- L1%: The percentage that represents the "L1" usage level
- L2%: The percentage that represents the "L2" usage level
FCS TIM Name Mapping
The FCS - TIM Name Mapping (D1-TIMNameMappingLookup ) extendable lookup is used to map Manufacturer and Model pairings to Itron FCS Translation Interface Module (TIM) names. TIMs are software components within Itron's systems (like MV-90) that enable communication with and data collection from a wide range of meter types, in particular with time of use and interval meters. Note that a single value for this extendable lookup can contain multiple mappings. Values for this extendable lookup include the following:
-
TIM Name Mapping: Mappings between Manufacturer/Model pairs and TIM names
and password.
- Manufacturer: A manufacturer defined in the system
- Register Model: A model, based on the selected Manufacturer
- TIM Name: The TIM name associated with the Manufacturer and Model
- Password: A password used to communicate with the TIM
Payload Processing Extendable Lookups
The following extendable lookups are used when processing measurement payloads received from FCS.
FCS UOM Code Standard UOM Code Mapping
Tee FCS - UOM Code Standard UOM Code Mapping (D9-FCSHeadendUOMLookup) extendable lookup...
Usage received from the Itron FCS system uses specific unit of measures (UOMs). These custom UOMs must be mapped to standard UOM codes. The FCS UOM Code Standard UOM Mapping (D1-FCSHeadendUOMLookup) extendable lookup is used for this purpose. Each value defined for this extendable lookup should include the following:
-
Head-End Unit of Measure: The unit of measure code used by the Itron FCS application
- Description: A description of the unit of measure code.
- Status: The status of the lookup value (can be Active or Inactive)
- Unit of Measure: The unit of measure defined in the system.
-
Time of Use: An optional time of use period, defined in the system, used to further distinguish the unit of measure.
-
Service Quantity Identifier: An optional service quantity identifier, defined in the system, used to further distinguish the unit of measure.
FCS Head-End Time Zone to Standard Mapping
The FCS - Head-End Time Zone to Standard Mapping (D9-FCSTimeZoneTransLookup) extendable lookup maps time zones defined in the Itron FCS application to time zones defined in Oracle Utilities Smart Grid Gateway and Meter Data Management. Each value defined for this extendable lookup should include the following:
- Head-End Time Zone: The time zone used by the Itron FCS application
- Description: A description of the time zone
- Status: The status of the lookup value (can be Active or Inactive)
- Standard Time Zone: The time zone defined in the system
FCS Upload Parameters
The FCS - Upload Parameters (D9-FCSUploadParameters) extendable lookup is used to map specific types of FCS readings to read conditions, and specific types of FCS failures (based on read conditions in the FCS payload) to device event types defined in the FCS Device Event Mapping extendable lookup. For failure types, if a read contains the failure condition, the system creates a reader remark device event based on the specific device event type mapped. This extendable lookup is referenced as the value for the uploadParametersLookup dynamic parameter on the SGG Payload Processing Configuration extendable lookup value used with FCS (see Adapter for Itron Field Collection System (FCS) in Payload Handler Classes and Parameters).
Each value defined for this extendable lookup should include the following:
-
Channel Condition Codes: Mappings of FCS reading types (such as Regular Read, Verified Read, Bad Read, and so on) to measurement condition codes (from the Measurement Condition extendable lookup).
-
Read Condition Failures: Mappings of specific FCS failures (such as H1, H2, L1, and L2) to device event types (from the FCS Device Event Mapping extendable lookup)
FCS Device Event Mapping
The FCS - Device Event Mapping (D9-DeviceEventMappingLookup) extendable lookup is used to map FCS device event codes into standard event codes to determine which type of device event business object to instantiate when receiving device events from the head-end system. This mapping is done via pre-processing in the Device Event Seeder business object. Each value defined for this extendable lookup should include the following:
-
Head-End System Event Name: The event name used by the head-end system
-
Description: A description of the device event
-
Status: The status of the lookup value (can be Active or Inactive)
-
Standard Event Name: The standard event name for device events of this type, from the “Standard Event Name” extendable lookup.
