Understanding User Types
User type determines how the environment will be displayed when you log in.
Administration: provides the full complement of tools with additional tools and functions to change operational parameters.
Crew Operations: provides a limited version of Web Workspace with only the tools necessary for crew administration functions.
Full Operations: provides operational access to all Web Workspace tools.
Full Operations plus Switching: provides operational access to all Web Workspace tools plus the Web Switching Management tools.
Switching Request: provides access to the Web Switching Request environment with only the tools necessary to create switching requests.
Trainer: provides access to the Web Workspace environment with all licensed modules and extra tools needed by a trainer to conduct training.
Trouble Maintenance: provides a limited workspace with tools necessary for outage management functions.
View Only: provides read-only access to the operational environment.
Flex Crew Operations: provides only crew administration functions in the Flex Ops client.
Flex Full Operations: provides access to all Flex Ops tools except for Switching.
Flex Full Operations plus Switching: provides operational access to all Flex Ops client tools plus the Flex Switching features.
Flex Switching Request: provides access to the Flex Ops client’s Switching Request features.
Flex View Only: provides read-only access to the Flex client environment.

Logging In
1. To log in, enter the following information in the Login window:
User ID: enter the user name provided to you by your system administrator.
Password: enter the password provided to you by your system administrator.
Validate: click the Validate button to verify your login credentials.
Note: If your user name and password are not entered correctly, the system will display a Login Error message.
Once you have entered your user name and password, the Validate button will become activated.
2. Click Validate (or press Enter while in the password field) to validate your credentials.
3. Select User Type from the drop-down list to determine what tools and functions will be available to you (some applications only allow one user type). See Understanding User Types for more information.
4. If you are logging in to Web Workspace, you have the option to select a Workspace Layout. See “Managing Your Workspace Layout” for details.
5. Once the login criteria have been entered, click the Login button to complete the login process and open the module.
Note: If two-factor authentication is enabled, the Two Factor Authentication dialog box will open. To request an authentication code, select a delivery method from the drop-down list, and then click Request Code. Once you receive the code, enter it in the Code field, and click OK.
6. The Quit button closes the Login window and exits the Oracle Utilities Network Management System.
