Getting Started with the Configuration Assistant
Understanding Configuration Assistant Menus and Toolbar
This section describes the menu and toolbar options available with the Configuration Assistant.
File Menu.
Menu Option
Description
Toolbar Icon
Export Configuration...
Generates SQL statements for the current state of the configuration associated with every tab on the application. Once generated, the SQL statements are displayed in a window with options to save or print the information.
Print Preview
Opens the Print Preview dialog box, which allows you to print out the User Administration tab, Event Management Rules tab, Event Details Options tab, and Work Agenda Predefined Filter tab information from the current Configuration Assistant window.

Actions Menu
The Actions menu can vary by tab. See the tab descriptions for Actions menu option differences.
Menu Option
Description
Create Client Installer...
Launches the client installer application. See the Oracle Utilities Network Management System Installation Guide for details on creating the installer and installing local copies of the Oracle Utilities Network Management System client applications.
 
This menu item is available on all tabs.
User Menu
The User menu provides options to set preferences and log out of the Configuration Assistant.
Preferences Menu
The Preferences menu allows you to control certain common features of the Web Workspace.
Menu Option
Description
Smaller Font
Decreases the font size in text and icons. Repeat to further decrease the font size.
Bigger Font
Increases the font size in text and icons. Repeat to further increase the font size.
Reset Font
The application will reset the text and icons to use their default font size.
Save Preferences
Saves the current settings as the user's preference. See “Saving and Restoring Workspace Preferences” for details.
Restore Preferences
Restores the environment preferences to the default settings. See “Restoring to Default Preferences” for information.
Change Color Scheme...
Opens the Change Color Scheme dialog box, which allows you to select from different user interface coloring schemes.
The options are a Light scheme, a Dark scheme, and the default High Definition scheme. Unlike other user preferences, these apply to all environments for the user on the machine.
 
Help Menu
Menu Option
Description
Configuration Assistant Help
Opens the Configuration Assistant online help file.
Email Log Files...
Gathers the environment's log files and attaches them to a new email message using your default email client. The log files can then be sent to your support team or contact for further analysis.
Set Debug...
Launches the Set Debug dialog box allowing you to set debug on or off within all client environments. As a Configuration Assistant user type, the dialog box also allows you to set debug within the services (JMService, MTService, etc). This is used for debugging and analysis purposes. See “Setting Debug” for more information.
About Configuration Assistant
Opens a dialog box that displays information regarding what version of the application is presently running, as well as version and other information about the Oracle Utilities Network Management System Web Gateway that the application is using.
