Understanding ANMS Schemes
Overview of ANMS Scheme Creation
ANMS schemes are created from an ANMS switching sheet template. While very similar to planned switching sheet, the ANMS sheet type provides an ANMS Conditions tab where you can set trigger conditions for a selected SCADA device.
The steps to create an ANMS scheme are as follows.
1. Click the new switching sheet button () on the Web Workspace toolbar.
2. In the New Switching Sheet dialog box, select the ANMS Template row.
3. Click Create.
4. In the new ANMS Template sheet, select the ANMS Conditions tab and enter the triggers that will create an ANMS event. See “Entering Conditions in the ANMS Conditions Tab” for details.
5. Add switching steps to the Steps tab.
6. Select the Request tab and choose the sheet specific ANMS Mode. By default it will be in the Disabled mode. Select the mode (Manual or Automatic) to process the scheme. See “Understanding ANMS Modes” for details.
Note: The Global ANMS Mode is displayed in the Web Workspace Status bar. Administrators may change the global ANMS Mode by selecting the Web Workspace Tools menu, and then selecting the ANMS Mode from the DMS Settings menu (see DMS Settings on page 2-7 for details).
Understanding ANMS Modes
ANMS Modes control the processing and execution of ANMS schemes. Schemes may be disabled or executed automatically or manually by configuring these modes. ANMS has two types of modes.
Global ANMS Mode
The Global ANMS Mode controls the processing and execution of all schemes in the system. The mode can be in any one of the following states.
Disabled: No processing of schemes will happen.
Manual: Schemes will be processed. When scheme conditions are met by the system, an event will be created in the Work Agenda and an ANMS switching sheet will be created from the template. You will need to execute the sheet and complete the event.
Automatic: Schemes will be processed. When scheme conditions are met by the system, an event will be created in the Work Agenda and an ANMS switching sheet will be created from the template. The steps in the sheet will be automatically executed.
Note: To set the ANMS Mode, select ANMS Mode from the Web Workspace Tools menu, and then select the desired mode (Disable, Manual, or Automatic). Only Administrators are allowed to change this mode.
ANMS Template Specific Mode
The mode controls the processing and execution of the sheet based on the original template. The mode is sheet specific and can be in any of the following states.
Disabled: No processing of scheme will happen.
Manual: The scheme will be processed. When scheme conditions are met by the system, then an event will be created in the Work Agenda and an ANMS switching sheet will be created from the template. You must execute the sheet and complete the event.
Automatic: The scheme will be processed automatically when scheme conditions are met by the system. An event will be created in the Work Agenda and an ANMS switching sheet will be created from the template. The steps in the sheet will be automatically executed.
Note: ANMS Template processing will happen only when a previously created sheet (if any) and event (if any) from this template are completed or canceled successfully.
Creating ANMS Switching Sheet Templates
ANMS Switching templates look like standard switching sheet templates with the addition of an ANMS Conditions tab that allows you to add conditions to an ANMS scheme and also set the scheme's ANMS mode.
Entering Conditions in the ANMS Conditions Tab
The ANMS Conditions tab allows you to add or delete conditions in the ANMS switching sheet template. It contains the following sections:
Condition Addition Form
The Condition Addition Form allows you to select SCADA devices and their threshold values that combine to trigger an event. To add the condition to the sheet, do the following.
1. Add device information to the Device field using one of these methods:
Select the device in the Viewer and click the Link Device button ().
Enter a partial device alias and click the Device Lookup button () to open the Select SCADA Device dialog box. Select the device and click OK.
2. Select the SCADA device’s trigger attribute from the Attribute drop‑down list, which will be populated with the potential trigger attributes for the device. The selection may include analog and digital attributes.
3. Select the logical operator from the Operator drop‑down list. This will be populated with following options depending on the type of attribute selected.
Digitals: Equals
Analogs: Equals, Greater than, Less than, Greater than or equals, Less than or equals
4. Enter the threshold value in the Value field. This varies based on the attribute type.
For digitals, you may select from a drop‑down list with valid options. For example, for a device status, the drop‑down list will allow you to select either Open or Closed.
For analogs, you may enter the value manually in the text box.
5. Click the Add button () to enter the condition in the Conditions table.
6. Repeat the steps 1 through 5 to define additional trigger conditions.
Note: The Condition Addition Form is available in the ANMS template, but not on the ANMS sheet.
ANMS Conditions Table
The Conditions table contains the conditions added to the sheet. It provides the following columns.
Condition #: The index number for the conditions added to the sheet.
Device: The device alias.
Attribute: The device's selected trigger attribute.
Operator: The selected logical operator value.
Value: The trigger value for the condition.
The table toolbar provides two options for selected rows.
Delete (): Allows you to delete selected condition rows.
Focus (): Focuses the Viewer on the selected row's condition device.
These options are available in context menus when you right-click a condition row.
Note: The Delete button is available in the ANMS template and not on the ANMS sheet.
Selecting the Template's ANMS Mode
The ANMS Mode drop‑down list, available in the sheet template Request tab, allows you to select the operation mode for the scheme. The options are Disabled, Manual, and Automatic; the default value is Disabled. You may change the mode to Automatic or Manual after you have completed adding steps and conditions to the sheet.
The mode is included in the sheet title, which will be constructed as follows.
ANMS Template <Sheet ID> (<ANMS Sheet mode>)
Deleting an ANMS Template
You can delete an ANMS template by opening it, selecting the Tracking/Audit Log tab, and clicking the ‘Delete button’.
