Working with the DERMS Configuration Tool
The DERMS Configuration Tool displays common Edge DERMS configuration options. This tool is available to the DERMS Administrator user. The functions are grouped into tabs:
Users
The Users tab displays a list of DERMS users and user types.
Select a row in the Current Users table to populate the Available User Types and Current User Types tables, and then add or remove user types as desired. You can also add and remove users or edit user details to subscribe to DERMS event state change notifications.
Permissions
The Permissions tab displays permissions associated with each user type, and optionally permissions associated with specific users.
Select a user type in the User Types table to add or remove permissions for that user type. Similarly, select a user in the User Name table to add or remove permissions for that user.
Parameters
The Parameters tab displays global DERMS configuration options, with explanations for each. Select a row and edit it or clear it.
Strategy Types
The Strategy Types tab displays configurable strategy type categories. Select a row and edit it or deactivate it. Higher priority event types that can be scheduled with conflicts will force a cancellation of lower priority events.
Programs
The Programs tab displays the list of available programs, as received from Oracle Utilities Digital Asset Cloud Service (DACS). Right-click and Edit a program to modify some display values for the program and to flag certain rules as override-able.
Data Upload
The Data Upload tab allows you to perform the following actions:
• Import a temperature reduction file using the displayed XML file format. The Upload option in the Actions menu imports the selected file. The Clear option clears the selection.
• Export network model information to an external web service endpoint. The Export Model option in the Actions menu initiates the export process. Web service URL is specified by the OIC_MODEL_EXPORT_URL configuration parameter (accessible on the Parameters tab).
Alerts
The Alerts tab allows you to configure the type of alerts and the recipients to be notified when messages sent to any external system fail to be sent.
The alerts table contains a row for each type of message sent to an external system. In addition there are four rows that deal with general error conditions:
• Software Exceptions
• General Alerts
• General Warnings
• General Info
Alert List Columns
• The Classification column defines the type of message or error condition.
• The Type column indicates whether an Alert, Warning or Info alert is generated. Alerts are deemed to be higher priority than Warnings. If the type is set to Info, then the alert will never appear in the Alerts tool, but will instead be visible in the Alerts History tool and is used for auditing only.
• The Retry column indicates whether the system will attempt to resend the message associated with the alert.
• The Audit Successful Messages column indicates whether an Info alert will be placed in the Alert History tool when the message is successfully sent.
• The Send Email column indicates whether an email should be sent when a message fails to be sent or the error condition occurs.
• The Email Recipients column contains a comma separated list of email addresses to send the email notification to.
Alert List Actions
• The Edit Alert Rule action invokes a dialog box to allow editing of a selected alert row.
• The Reload action refreshes the contents of the list.
• The Service Recache action sends any updates made to the configuration to the server.
