Understanding Completion Events

Completion events are used to capture closeout information against activities received from an external application. For example, completion events may be configured for several types of asset processing such as updating worked assets, creating service histories, and creating operational read information.

All external activities have a set of required and optional completion events that can be executed to see the activity to completion. The Completion tab on the activity shows any other system objects that are associated to the completed object. For example, if you are looking at the completion event for an activity, the Completion tab shows the valid completion-related actions, service history, and measurement information that may be associated with the activity, asset, or location in context.

The Relationship Information section shows any other system objects that are associated to the completed object. For example, if you are looking at the completion event for an activity, the relationship information shows the asset, any components, the location, service history, and so on.
