About Facilities

Facilities represent the network node level closest to the device location. In terms of electric networks, facilities typically represent transformers, but can also be feeders and substations.

Facilities are defined by the following:

  • Facility Type: The type of facility (derived from the business object). Facilities in Digital Asset Management are typically transformers, but can also be feeders and substations.

  • Service Type: The type of service provided by the facility. This is most often "Electric" in Digital Asset Management.

  • Status: The current status of the facility.

  • External ID: An ID used to identify the facility in external systems.

  • Time Zone: The time zone in which the facility resides.

System Data

Facilities are based on the following system data:

Business Object(s)

Feeder (D1-Feeder)

Substation (D1-Substation)

Transformer (D1-Transformer)

Defining Facility Types

Different types of facilities can be defined using the Facility Type (D1-FacilityTypeLookup) extendable lookup. This lookup can be used to define the Network Node Type for each type of facility (such as transformer, feeder, or substation), as well as whether or not facilities of a given type are eligible to be connected to metered service points (via the SP Connection Eligibility flag).
