Interfacing Service Calls

Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing is able to record service calls for a particular service point in the system, as well as for an unknown service point, i.e. a fuzzy call. Service call information is sent to the asset management system that will process any work that may be required due to the service call.

When recording a service call, the system creates a service call process flow and assigns it a service call communication type. The process flow type and service call communication type are determined from the action method with Action Method Role of Service Call. See Action Method for more information about setting up action methods. Service call communication type defines the rules and controls for creating service call communication. It also defines the service call communication business object.

The system is delivered with the following objects that are used to record a service call:
  • Process Flow Type C1-SERVICECALL

  • Service Call Communication Type business object C1-ServiceCallCommTaskType

  • Service Call Communication business object C1-ServiceCallCommunication
