Batch Processing

The Device Group Evaluation (D1-DGEV) and Service Point Group Evaluation (D1-SPGEV) batch controls are used to identify devices or service points (respectively) that are eligible for a particular group and assigns them to a specified group, or expires relationships between devices or service points (respectively) and a specified group.

Devices or service points that are not currently assigned to an entity group for a specified category will be assigned to an eligible group. Only one group for the category may be assigned. If the device or service point is currently assigned a group for that category, it will be evaluated for eligibility, and if the current group is no longer eligible, the group is expired. If the same device becomes eligible for another group, that group is assigned to the device or service point.

Parameters:

  • Group Code Category: A group category used to identify eligible entities. Required if the Mode is "Evaluate Group Code Category"

  • Group Code: A group used to identify eligible entities, Required if the Mode is "Expire Device Group Code", "Expire Service Point Group Code" or "Evaluate Group Code", and is optional if the Mode is "Evaluate Group Code Category".
  • Mode (Required): The mode by which the process evaluates entities. Options include:
    • Expire Device Group Code (D1ED): Used to expire device entity group relationships for the specified Group Code
    • Expire Service Point Group Code (D1ES): Used to expire service point entity group relationships for the specified Group Code
    • Evaluate Group Code (D1EG): Used to search entities based on Group Code, and assigns eligible devices or service points to the specified Group Code
    • Evaluate Group Code Category (D1GC): Used to search entities based on Group Code Category (and optionally a Group Code). This mode assigns devices or service points eligible for a group of the specified category (and Group Code if provided), and expires relationships between devices or service points and groups of the specified category (and Group Code is provided).

Note that these batch controls are used with groups whose Group Assignment Option is either "System" or "System or User".
