New Features Summary
This section focuses on the new features implemented in this release. While these notes provide high-level information, refer to the Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator Installation and Administration Guide and Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator User's Guide for comprehensive guidelines.
Export-Import of Component Extensions
Component’s custom extensions can now be exported and imported across Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator instances, enabling you to migrate your custom extensions on the base components between the development and test Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator environments. They also enable the usage of a component’s extended elements, inline with the base elements of a component. It reduces the effort and time required to manage custom extension of components. Exporting a component automatically includes the custom extensions that have been created for the component. The elements added as part of the custom extensions are also available in the test data spreadsheet and in the flow test data’s Data from.. feature that supports mapping of test data from a component’s response.
Additional Filters on the Summary Report
The new filters on the summary report provide options to view and focus on specific content in the flow run summary. This improves the ease of use and provides finer grain control of the summary report. With the new filters, you can select and filter the summary report to view only failed steps or steps that correspond to the execution of specific types of flow steps. In addition to the filters, the option to view the summary report as a list of all the results of each step or as a table showcasing the validations at step has been provided. These filters make it easier for you to look to specific information in the summary report.
Quick Run Option and Context Menu Refactoring
The
Quick Run button next to the flow name in the flow tree structure opens a test flow dialog box. This enables you to quickly run the test flow. The
Edit icon next to the flow has been replaced to accurately depict the operation. In addition, the right-click context menu of the test flow now lists the important options first. This is followed by the
More submenu that lists other options.

A new option on the right-click context menu on the flow allows exporting the individual flows from Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator. The export supports extraction of individual flows from Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator without the need to navigate to the Export Flows option.
Conversion of Validation Libraries
The validation functions specified using WSVALIDATELIB, RSVALIDATELIB, COREVALIDATEVARIABLELIB libraries in the flow test data’s Post Validations section will automatically be converted to condition based validations from function based validations during the CM Content upgrade process. This ensures consistency in the validation definition. With improved ease of use, the condition based validations are being widely utilized for validations.
To make sure that all validation definitions are consistent and easy to read and use, the validations defined using WSVALIDATELIB, RSVALIDATELIB, and COREVALIDATEVARIABLELIB libraries under the Post Validations > Function Based section in the flow test data will automatically be converted during CM content upgrade process.
Currently, post validations in the Flow Test Data page can be defined using either the validation function libraries or condition based validations. The condition based validations are intuitive to use and they are an enhanced version of defining validations. For all existing flows, validation functions that have been defined using WSVALIDATELIB, RSVALIDATELIB, and COREVALIDATEVARIABLELIB libraries in the Flow Test Data > Post Validations section will be automatically converted to condition based validations whenever the CM Content upgrade process is triggered. So, when you upgrade test flows using the CM Content upgrade process, from an older version of the product pack to a later version, validation definitions will be automatically converted from function based to condition based validations. The validation will still apply in the same way as before, but the method of validation definition will be updated.
Test Data Set Selector in Flow Sets
You can now add test flows to a flow set by selecting one or more flow test data sets for each flow. The flow set run will run each flow with all the selected flow test data sets. The flow set management’s improved user interface displays all the available test data sets for a flow when adding a flow to the flow set, which makes it easier for you to quickly select the required test data sets by dragging and dropping them appropriately. You can do this for multiple flows through the same window, which further enhances the ease of use. Updating the flow test data sets in a flow set has also been made easier owing to this new user interface as it provides a consolidated view of the test data sets that have been selected for a flow.
CM Content Upgrade Process Persistence
The CM Content Upgrade run history is now available. The CM Content Upgrade user interface has been enhanced to include a table to show the list of CM Content upgraded processes that have been run. Irrespective of the user who has triggered the process, all users with requisite permissions can view the CM Content Upgrade run status. Improvements have also been made in the logs to display the list of all flows that have been upgraded as part of the CM Content Upgrade run. The start time and end time of the run provides information pertaining to the duration of the upgrade process.
Quick Navigation to Flow Run from Dashboard
To navigate to the specific flow run directly, click the Flow Execution ID in the flow run list table in the Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator dashboard.
Improvements to Configuration Sets GUI
The user interface of flow configuration set and user configuration set has been improved to make it easier to provide the property values and add/manage custom properties. The user interface for flow and user configuration sets has been enhanced to categorize the properties into:
• Base: Lists the properties that are common for SOAP and REST based web services.
• Authentication Properties: Lists the properties under base that are required for authentication of the web service request.
• Other Properties (Optional): Lists the properties under base that are optional.
• REST: Lists the properties that are specific to REST web services.
• Custom: Lists any custom properties that you add to the configuration sets.
Categorization makes it easier to identify and provide values against the properties based on their applicability to your use case.
Selective Export of Flows
Selective export of flows allows you to export a specific selection of flows from Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator using varying filters, which removes the need to define a specific tag in the flow header before the export. The GUI is intuitive and allows to search, select, and add flows to an export list. You can redefine the search filters multiple times while adding a specific set of flows from each of the search results to the export list. After you add all the flows to be exported to the export list, click Export to bundle the flows and export them from Oracle Utilities Testing Accelerator.
Flow Run Failure Resolution through Enhanced Info Messaging
Enhanced messaging provides detailed insights into the causes of flow step failures, offering suggestions for mitigation and enabling easier troubleshooting. The testing tool features an advanced diagnostic capability, enabling users to pinpoint the cause of a failed test flow run.
Click the information icon adjacent to the relevant flow step in the flow run tree to gain access to detailed insights into the root cause of the failure. This feature provides actionable recommendations to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. You can quickly identify and address problems, streamlining their debugging process. The intuitive interface ensures seamless navigation through complex test flows, reducing time spent on error resolution.
Automated Upgrade of Flow Sets
Flow sets can now be upgraded by an automated upgrade process to point to the upgraded flows in the application, so you do not have to manually create a new flow set and can quickly run the flow sets for your upgrade. The automated upgrade of flow sets is a feature that streamlines the testing process for Oracle Energy and Water Cloud Service upgrades. By specifying the desired flow set, you can initiate an automated upgrade process, eliminating the need to manually recreate the flow set with each upgrade. To access this feature, navigate to the CM Content Upgrade process and select the flow set to be upgraded. You will then be prompted to provide product mapping details, including source and target release information.
Flow Subroutine Test Data Page Changes
The Test Data page for providing inputs to the flow subroutine in a parent flow has been updated to improve usability. The user interface to create variables and manage them has been clearly de-marked and aligns more closely with the product theme. The updated test data page offers an intuitive interface for creating and managing variables, which streamlines the process of providing inputs to flow subroutines. Click Create New Variable to easily add new variables. Additionally, the clear distinction between 'In' and 'Out' variables ensures that you can effortlessly identify and manage their variables, which reduces errors and improves workflow efficiency.
