2.13 Lending Events and Validation Rules

In the retail lending lifecycle, every action is associated with a specific event. This section enables you to define validation rules that are executed when an event is triggered online. You can create rules to validate specific conditions, such as:

  1. For secured products, ensuring that collateral details are captured before onboarding a loan
  2. Restricting the types of collateral that can be provided as security for specific products
  3. Preventing disbursement if there is a debit freeze condition on an account
  4. Preventing payment if there is a credit freeze condition on an account.

These validation rules are defined and linked to validation models, which are then attached to events. If all rules are successfully executed, the event processing proceeds. Otherwise, an error message configured in the rules is displayed.

Prerequisites: Before defining event validation rules, ensure that:

Rules are created in Rule → Rule → Create Rule. Validation models are created in Core Maintenance → Credit Decision → Maintenance → Validation Model → Create Validation Model.
