1.2 Outgoing Message Browser

This topic provides the systematic instructions to search the outgoing messages in the application.

Banks and financial institutions send Outgoing messages in form of SWIFT or Mail for variety of purposes.

Once the Bank sends out messages Bank user would like to see the status of the sent messages or view the detail.

This screen allows the Bank user to view the summary of the message sent for Trade Finance Transactions. The user can also be able to check the status of the Message and view the detail of Messages Sent out.

Specify User ID and Password, and login to Home screen.
  1. On Home screen, click Trade Finance. Under Trade Finance, click Message Browser.
  2. Under Message Browser, click Outgoing Message Browser.

    The Outgoing Message Browser screen is displayed.

Outgoing Message Browser - Search

User can search the Outgoing Messages by providing the search criteria value. After providing search criteria,system displays the search values as per the provided search criteria.

In search criteria any one value either in Branch or Reference Number or Module or Acknowledgment Status field are mandatory for searching.

The Outgoing Message Browser has two sections Outgoing Message Browser - Search Criteria and Outgoing Message Browser - Search Result as given below:

  1. On Outgoing Message Browser - Search Criteria screen, specify the search criteria.

    Field Description
    Branch By default, customer home branch is displayed as search criteria and it can be changed, if required.

    Click Search to search and select the Branch code from the list of available Branch for the user.

    System search messages based on the Branch value.

    Reference Number Specify the Reference Number.

    Alternatively, click Search to search and select the Reference Number.

    System searches the messages based on Customer ID and Module list in Reference Number LOV.

    Module Specify the module.

    Alternatively, click Search to search and select the module.

    Advice Name Specify the advice name or click Search to search and select the advice name from the LOV.

    System lists the eligible Advice Name as available in Message types field in OBTF Outgoing Browser Table.

    User can select the Message type which is available in LOV. System searches the messages based on provided Advice Name.

    Media Select the media to search the messages.

    The system lists the Media type as per the value available in Outgoing Browser table.

    The options are:

    • SWIFT
    • MAIL
    SWIFT Message Type Specify the SWIFT Message Type.

    Alternatively, click Search to search and select the SWIFT Message type from the list of eligible SWIFT Message types listed by the system.

    Receiver Specify the Receiver detail or click Search to search and select the Receiver from the LOV.

    System searches the messages where the given value available under Receiver field.

    Message Status Select the message status to search the messages based on the Status.

    The system lists the Process Status as per the value available in Outgoing Browser table.

    The options are:

    • Cancelled
    • Reinstated
    • Repair
    • Sent
    • Ungenerated
    • Generated
    • Handoff
    • Processed
    • Confirmation Pending
    • External Ungenerated

    Default value is Generated.

    Authorization Status Select the Authorization status to search the messages based on Authorization status.

    The system lists the options as per the value available in Outgoing Browser table.

    The options are:

    • Authorized
    • Unauthorized
    Acknowledgment Status Select the Acknowledgment status from the list.

    The system lists the options as per the value available in Outgoing Browser table.

    The options are:

    • Pending
    • Accepted
    • Rejected
  2. Click Search. The searched results are displayed based on the parameters provided.

Outgoing Message Browser - Search Results

Based on the parameters provided as a search criteria, system search the messages and displays the details in the Outgoing Message Browser - Search Result section.

System displays the number of pages available as part of search and number of records per page. User can navigate between the pages to view the details from search result.

Select Check box to select the Outgoing Message record.
Branch System displays the branch details.
Document Number System displays the document number for the message.
Reference Number System displays the reference number for the message.
Module System displays the module for the message.
Advice Name System displays the message type of the message.
Sub Advice Name System displays the sub message type of the message.
Receiver System displays the Receiver detail of message.
Media System displays the media of messages.

The media types are:

  • SWIFT
  • MAIL
SWIFT Message Type System displays the SWIFT Message Type.
SWIFT Message Sub Type System displays the SWIFT Sub Message Type.
Name System displays the name of the receiver.
Address 1-4 System displays the address details of the Receiver.
Location System displays the location details of the Receiver.
Message Status System displays the message status of the message.
Acknowledgment Status System displays the Acknowledgment status.

  1. Click Reset to reset the search parameters.

    Search Click the Search button to perform the search for the Incoming Messages.
    Reset Click Reset to reset the search parameters.

    The screen is blank and user can enter the new search criterias.

    View The View button appears after selecting the record in Search Result section.

    Click View to view the Outgoing Message details.

  2. Click the check box against any Outgoing Message record to select the record.
    The View button appears below the Outgoing Message Browser - Search Results.
  3. Click View to view the Outgoing Message details.

    Document Reference System displays the document reference number for the message.
    Advice Name System displays the message type details of the message.
    SWIFT Message Type System displays the SWIFT Message Type of the message.
    SWIFT Message Subtype System displays the SWIFT Message Subtype of the message.
    Media System displays the media of messages.
    Branch System displays the branch.
    Message Status System displays the message status of the message.
    Acknowledgment Status System displays the Acknowledgment status.
    NAK Error Code - Reason System displays the NAK error code and error reason.
    Authorization Status System displays the Authorization status.
    Exception Reason System displays the exception reason for the Message.
    Message Details System displays the full Message of the Outgoing Message.
  4. Click Close to close the screen.
    The user navigates back to Outgoing Message Browser screen.
