File Transfer

File Transfer in Communication Cloud Service automates batch initiation tasks, eliminating the need for manual intervention. The object storage details are securely stored within Communication Cloud Service through the Operations Company's Supplier Service Component. These details are then used to monitor the respective Oracle object storage for the availability of files, enabling the file transfer auto-triggering batch process when new files arrive. See Understanding Operations Company Supplier Service Configuration for more information on secure storage.

Your organization can place files in the Oracle object storage. These files may include customer records or other types of information that need to be processed for communication generation and distribution. Based on a schedule, File Transfer feature continuously monitors the Oracle object storage for the arrival of new files. Once a file is detected, it is first subjected to a virus scanning process to ensure it does not contain any malware or malicious code. If the file successfully passes the virus scan, the file is then converted into the required format, such as from XML to JSON, if necessary. This file conversion ensures that the data is in the correct format for the downstream services to process efficiently.

After the file is successfully converted into the appropriate format, it is transferred to the designated Communication Object storage for further handling. This automated process streamlines the management of file transfers from the source application to Communication Cloud Service, ensuring that the necessary transaction data is processed efficiently, securely, and without delays. With integrated secure storage management, virus scanning, and data conversion, File Transfer enhances operational efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate communications.

See Understanding Distribution Collation for more information on the process flow.
