16.2.3.2 External Data Descriptor - Encrypted Files

When working with an External Data Descriptor, you can specify whether the incoming data file is encrypted so that the system can process it correctly.

By default, encryption is turned OFF, and the system expects non encrypted files. If your incoming file is encrypted, you must enable the Is data file(s) encrypted? option in the Data tab. Once enabled, the system will automatically decrypt the file using the configured encryption key and then load the data.

If your data file is provided within an archive (such as a ZIP file), ensure that the individual files are already encrypted before they are archived. The system does not encrypt or decrypt the archive itself.

For Control files, if they are provided separately from the data file, you can enable the Is Reconciliation file encrypted? option in the Control tab. This ensures the control file is decrypted before processing. However, if both data and control information are contained in the same file, this option will be disabled, and the encryption setting defined for the data file will apply to the entire file.
