14.3 Rule Execution Grain
When configuring a Reclassification rule, users can specify the evaluation grain as either Contract or Nostro ID. Selecting Nostro ID instructs AFCS to evaluate balances at the bank account level rather than individually for each contract. Since multiple contracts can be associated with the same Nostro ID, the application aggregates the balances of all eligible contracts mapped to that Nostro ID within the population defined by the rule.
The Nostro ID evaluation grain is recommended when the reclassification decision should be based on the overall net position of a bank account. AFCS independently calculates the net balance for each Nostro ID and compares the resulting position with the asset or liability classification of the underlying balances. If a mismatch is identified, AFCS generates the required Reclassification Events to move the affected balances to the appropriate account classification.
Note:
Choose the Nostro ID evaluation grain when accounting treatment depends on the net position of a bank account shared across multiple contracts. Use the Contract evaluation grain when each contract must be evaluated independently for reclassification.
