Adding Partition Values

This option is used for adding partition values for the Derived Entity definitions which are created with Prebuilt Table flag set as Y. After you provide partition values, data is fetched from the specified partitions only, thereby resulting in better performance.

To add partition values:
  1. From the Derived Entity Summary window, select the Derived Entity for which you want to add partition values and click Partitions.
    The Partition Details window is displayed.

    This illustration shows the Partition Details window. The window has the Derived Entity Details and Available Partitions pane. In the Derived Entity Details pane, you can specify the details of the derived entity. In the Available Partitions, you can select the value of the partitions, you can also add and delete the partition in this pane.

  2. Click the Add button and enter the partition value in the editable row.
  3. Click Save.
