Defining the Alternation for a Scenario

An Alternation provides an ‘or’ operator for the pattern within a sequence. This is used when more than one event or sub-sequence satisfies the conditions of a pattern. An alternation is always a child to a sequence block or another alternation, and is composed of a description that is used in the Editor.

To define the Alternation for a scenario, follow these steps:
  1. Highlight the sequence to which you want to add a child alternation (you can also add an alternation to another alternation).
  2. Select the Scenario menu and highlight Add Alternation.
  3. Click Before, After, or As Child to the selected sequence or alternation. The OR [DESCRIPTION] string displays in the Pattern Editor dialog box.
  4. Double-click the string.
  5. In the Pattern Editor dialog box, type the desired name in the Description field.
