Defining the Alternation for a Scenario
An Alternation provides an ‘or’ operator for the pattern within a sequence. This is used when more than one event or sub-sequence satisfies the conditions of a pattern. An alternation is always a child to a sequence block or another alternation, and is composed of a description that is used in the Editor.
To define the Alternation for a scenario, follow these steps:
- Highlight the sequence to which you want to add a child alternation (you can also add an alternation to another alternation).
- Select the Scenario menu and highlight Add Alternation.
- Click Before, After, or As Child to the selected sequence or alternation. The OR [DESCRIPTION] string displays in the Pattern Editor dialog box.
- Double-click the string.
- In the Pattern Editor dialog box, type the desired name in the Description field.
