Sub-sequence Properties
When you double-click a secondary (child) sequence name within a scenario, the Sequence Properties dialog box displays. In this dialog box, you can define the properties. Two required properties for a sub- sequence include:
- Loop
- Description
Refer to Outer Sequence Properties, for definitions of each.
Note:
This process assumes that you completed the procedures for Defining Basic Elements of a Sequence Scenario, and created a dataset. Refer to DataSet Editor, for procedures for creating datasets.To define a Sequence or Sub-sequence, follow these steps:
- From the Windows menu, select Sequence
Patterns.
The Sequence Scenario Editor displays.
- From the Scenario menu of the Sequence Scenario Editor, select Create New Scenario or Open Existing Scenario.
- Select a scenario from the Scenario/Pattern dialog box if Open Existing Scenario is used. For Create New Scenario, refer to Creating a Scenario.
- Double-click the SEQ [DESCRIPTION] string in the
Pattern Editor field, in the Sequence Scenario
Editor.
The Sequence Properties dialog box displays.
- Type the string name in the Name field as you want it to display in the Pattern Editor field.
- Click Ok.
The Pattern Editor field in the Sequence Scenario Editor dialog box, now contains the name that you specified in Step 2.
- Click Scenario, highlight Add Sequence, and then select As Child to add another sequence to your pattern.
- Double-click the sequence you just added.
- Type the desired name in the Pattern Editor in the Description field.
- Define the remaining optional fields (Distance, Loop, and Prefix) as desired.
- Add Sub-sequences, as desired; complete all of the above steps for each.
Note:
The depreciated Distance parameter is no longer used. It appears in the editor only to provide compatibility with previous versions of the Scenario Manager.
