2.5.2 Glossary Mapping Summary

Glossary mapping in a data catalog refers to linking business terms from a primary catalog (such as an PBSM glossary) to equivalent or related terms in a mapped catalog (like application-specific glossaries).

The Glossary Mapping Summary page, similar to the Catalog Summary and Connectors, provides an overview of glossary mappings.
  1. Click Glossary Mapping to view the list of Glossary Mapping.
  2. Click on Search to filter using Glossary Mapping Name, ID, Source, Target and Created By.
  3. The summary page displays Mapping Name, Primary Catalog, Mapped Catalog and total mappings details.
  4. Click on three dots to view, extend, or publish the selected glossary mapping.
  5. This section is divided into four steps:
    • Glossary Mapping Details
    • Direct Mapping
    • Expressions
    • Extension
    • Review
  6. View Glossary Mapping Details: This step sets the context for the mapping. Define mapping details and upload the mapping data you have created from the system Glossary Mapping Template (xls).
    1. Enter the following details:
      • Mapping Name
      • Description
      • Primary Catalog

    1. Click Search to filter based on the selected criteria.
    2. Select/ Unselect the Show Mapped and Unmapped Business Terms.
  8. Expression: Map the business terms of primary catalog as if being sourced from the business terms of mapped catalog.

    • Only applicable for terms not mapped under Direct Mapping.
    • Interface allows filtering:
      • Search by term
      • Show mapped/unmapped business terms
  9. Extension:
  10. Review: Summarizes the complete mapping details.
  11. Click Submit or Cancel the mapping process.
