5.1 Data Sourcing
Data sourcing refers to the process of acquiring data from both internal and external systems and transferring it to DFCS through an object store. It involves identifying, extracting, and collecting data from a variety of sources, including transactional systems, third-party providers, and data warehouses.
Data sourcing must be carefully managed to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory standards, especially when handling sensitive financial or customer information. In DFCS, data sourcing is enabled through Ingest Connectors for each entity, using External Data Descriptors (EDDs) for file-based ingestion. These connectors can lookup information from catalog objects and enrich incoming data via EDDs before loading it into DFCS.
