Polling Files on SFTP Server
Polling files on an SFTP server is an automated process in ORMB that ensures the smooth transfer of files from the SFTP server to the ORMB staging area. This process is managed using the FPOLR batch (SFTP Poller Batch), the File Management System, and specific Rule Types that define how files are identified, processed, and monitored.
-
FPOLR Batch (SFTP Poller Batch) :
The FPOLR batch is responsible for polling files from the SFTP server and determining whether they should be uploaded to ORMB staging. This batch execution is governed by predefined rules that filter and categorize files based on business requirements.
-
File Management System :
The File Management System provides visibility into the status of files uploaded to the SFTP server and ORMB staging. For more information, refer to File Management System
-
Rule Types for SFTP Poller Batch :
The FPOLR batch relies on two predefined rule types to control file polling behavior:
-
File Upload Rule Type (FILE_RQ_TYPE) :
This rule type determines which files should be uploaded from the SFTP server to ORMB staging. It ensures only valid files are polled and uploaded. For more information, refer to Rule Types
-
File Upload Rule Failure Type (FILE_UP_FAIL) :
This rule type handles failures in the file upload process and enables appropriate actions, such as retries, notifications, or manual intervention. For more information, refer to Rule Types
