Authorize Two Cards

Pre-authorize a credit card to validate the card against the amount, then use a different card to pay off the transaction.

1. Log in to workstation 01.
2. Start a transaction.
3. Ring in the items.
4. Select CC Auth, and then tap, swipe, or insert the credit card. For example, a Visa card.
   The PED lights up prompting for the card. The authorization is successful, the credit card vouchers for the authorization are printed, and the authorization details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The credit card limit is reduced by the authorized amount.
5. Select CC Auth & pay to pay off the transaction and then tap, swipe, or insert a different credit card. For example, an Amex card.
   The PED lights up prompting for the card. The authorization is successful, the credit card vouchers for sale are printed, and the authorization and pay details are displayed in the Check Detail Area. The card used for CC Auth credit limit is reverted to the original amount before the CC Auth and these details are not visible in the customer’s card statement. The credit card used for CC Auth & pay is reduced by the transaction amount and can be seen in the customer’s card statement.
