Subsidiary and Location Restrictions for Recipes

The following scenario explains the impact of subsidiary and location restrictions.

Sample Company Hierarchy

  • Parent Company Parent Subsidiary
    • Region A (Subsidiary)
      • Property A1 (Subsidiary)
        • Location A1A
        • Location A1B
      • Property A2 (Subsidiary)
        • Location A2A
        • Location A2B
    • Region B (Subsidiary)
      • Property B1 (Subsidiary)

Use Case 1

Configuration

  • A recipe is assigned to the Parent Company.
  • The Available for All Locations option is enabled.

Result

  • The recipe is valid only for the parent company.
  • Ingredients: Only items and recipes configured exclusively for the parent company can be added to the recipe.

Use Case 2

Configuration

  • A recipe is assigned to the Parent Company.
  • The Include Children option is enabled.
  • The Available for All Locations option is enabled.

Result

  • The recipe is valid for the parent company and all child subsidiaries.
  • Ingredients: Only items and recipes configured in the same way can be added to the recipe. Ingredients restricted to specific subsidiaries or locations are not displayed.

Use Case 3

Configuration

  • A recipe is assigned to the Parent Company.
    • The Include Children option is enabled.
    • The Available for All Locations option is disabled, but some locations are selected.

Result

  • The recipe is valid only for the selected location(s). The locations list is not filtered.
  • Ingredients:
    • All items can be added to the recipe.
    • Recipes with the following configuration can be added:
      • Configured for the Parent Company Including Children
      • Configured for the subsidiary to which the selected location(s) belong
    • Ingredients restricted to other subsidiaries or locations are not displayed.

Use Case 4

Configuration

  • A recipe is assigned to Region B.
  • The Available for All Locations option is enabled.

Result

  • The recipe is valid only for the locations Region B, Property B1, and Property B2. The locations list is filtered to display only the locations assigned to these subsidiaries.
  • Ingredients:
    • Items with the following configuration can be added to the recipe:
      • Items available for Parent Company Including Children.
      • Items for subsidiaries Region B, Property B1, and Property B2.
    • Recipes with the following configuration can be added:
      • Configured for the Parent Company Including Children.
      • Configured for the subsidiaries Region B, Property B1, and Property B2.
    • Ingredients restricted to other subsidiaries or locations are not displayed.
