ValueLink Processor

The ValueLink Processor is an extension to the XProcessor Extension Application. It provides access to Fiserv’s ValueLink gift card service. The processor communicates with Fiserv’s (formerly FirstData) ValueLink Host either by Fiserv’s Secure Transport or Frame Relay via TCP/IP.

This figure shows the data workflow from the workstation’s service host running POS Operations to the ValueLink Host. A workstation operator presses a specific gift card operation button in POS Operations, and this triggers logic in the XProcessor Extension Application, which triggers the ValueLink Processor logic, which then communicates with Fiserv’s Datawire or Secure Transport Service to Fiserv’s ValueLink Host.
Setting up the ValueLink Processor consists of adding or modifying records in the following EMC modules:

  • Content

  • Page Design

  • Payments

  • Service Charges

  • Tender/Media

If you are an existing ValueLink customer, you can continue using your ValueLink Processor configuration, but you must be using the latest release package, which is Version 2.10.0.9997.
