Configuring Order Types for GST

The following steps describe how to configure Order Types in EMC for Australian GST.

1. In EMC, click Descriptors, and then in the Miscellaneous section click Order Types.
2. Configure two Order Type records with the following names:

   • Order Type 1 = Dine-in

   • Order Type 2 = Takeaway

3. Click Save.
4. On the EMC home page, click Setup, and then in the Taxes and Order Types section click Order Type Parameters.
5. In the Order Type Parameters module, set Dine-In and Takeaway as active.
6. For both Order Types, click ... in the Tax Mask column, and then enable the tax.
7. For the Takeaway order type, click ... in the Options column, and then enable the option 11 – Forgive Inclusive Tax, alongside other options as needed.
8. Click Save.

   Note:

   Simphony uses the label of the first tax rate linked to the first active order type, to print the GST label on guest checks and customer receipts.
