Job Code Overrides

When a job code is linked to an employee role, employees who are clocked in to that job code inherit the permissions of the job code for the duration of the shift. This situation is ideal when two job codes exist: Server and Floor Manager. By linking both of these to appropriate roles, a user who is clocked-in as a Floor Manager has privileges to perform voids, but when that same user is clocked-in as a server, they do not. To summarize, there are two methods for configuring job codes:

  • When the Role field is set to 0-None, the workstation operator has privileges based on the role(s) assigned in the EMC.

  • When the Role field is not 0-None, the workstation operator’s privileges from EMC do not apply. Only the privileges associated with the role from this field are active for the duration of the Clock-in Cycle.
