Configuring Menu Items for GST

The following steps explain how to configure menu items for Australia GST.

1. Select the Enterprise, property, revenue center, or zone, click Configuration, and then click Menu Item Classes.
2. For menu items that are designated as GST-free:

   • Select a Menu Item Class with no associated Tax Class.

     OR

   • Select a Menu Item Class associated with a Tax Class linked to a 0% Tax Rate.

3. For menu items that always include GST (for either order type), select Menu Item Classes that have option 78 - Forgive Inclusive Tax disabled.
4. For menu items that include GST for Dine In, but are GST-free for Takeaway, select Menu Item Classes that have option 78 - Forgive Inclusive Tax enabled.
5. Click Save.
