Importing an Extensibility Package

By importing an extensibility package into the EMC, Extension Application content and Configuration Content defined in the package's manifest.xml and metadata.xml files are created automatically without manual steps required by the user. This includes the creation of zonable keys and their respective settings, and the associated content types such as binary (that is, DLL, Image, or Icon) or string (that is, Loose Xaml, Resource Dictionary, Python, Resource, CSS, Javascript or Text).

After a package is imported, text that the package author has included (and details of files mentioned in the metadata.xml) are located on the Content tab.

To import a package:

  1. Select the Enterprise, property, revenue center, or zone, click Setup, and then click Extension Application.
  2. Insert a new extension application record.
  3. Select the new extension application content, and then click Import Package.
  4. In the Import System Template dialog, enter the text in the following fields, and then click OK.
    • Zoneable Key: Enter the zoneable key name.

    • Description: Enter a description for the zoneable key.

    • Package File: Select the package file to import (in ZIP format), and then click Open.

    • Package Password: To encrypt the package file, enter the password.

    Note:

Imported package content is read-only and cannot be edited or updated.
  5. Click Save.
