Configure Menu Items

Delivery service provider integrations do not support conversational ordering.

Enhanced condiment prefixes are supported in delivery service provider integrations. The Add, No, and Descriptor prefixes configured for tagged menu items sync to delivery service providers. If there is more than one default condiment set for a parent menu item, the system ignores the default condiments after the first one. When enhanced prefixes are used with priced condiments, the price is rolled up to the parent item; when No prefixes are used with priced condiments, the priced condiment amount is subtracted from the parent item. See Condiments and Condiment Prefixes for more information.

After creating menu items, add condiments to the items that need them, and then follow these steps:

  1. Select the Enterprise, property, or revenue center, click Configuration, and then click Menu Item Maintenance.
  2. Search in the master records, and then select the menu item from the list.
  3. Update and assign a SLU to the menu item.
    1. Click the General subtab.
    2. In the Touchscreen Properties section, select the relevant SLU from the drop-down lists in SLU through SLU 8.

You can assign up to eight SLUs per menu item. The SLU number specifies the order in which SLUs appear on the delivery provider ordering site (from least to greatest number). For example, a menu item assigned to SLU 2 will appear in the Entrees category:

      1 Starters

      2 Entrees

      3 Desserts

    3. Click Save.
  4. If necessary, update the menu item prices.
    1. Click the Prices subtab.
    2. Set the menu item price in the Price column.

If the menu item has multiple prices associated with different menu levels, ensure that each level has an appropriate prefix configured. See Setting Main, Sub, and Custom Menu Levels for more information.

    3. Click Save.

    1. Click the Images subtab.
