Location Requirements

Locations must meet the following requirements:

  • Failover Patterns: Partners or customers are responsible for implementing failover logic to local endpoints, as well as managing retries and timeouts.
  • Data and Privacy: Ensure data flows, retention, and residency comply with enterprise policies.
  • Time Synchronization: Maintain accurate device clocks for signing, certificate validation, and order timing.
  • Cost: Local deployments may have higher operational costs for provisioning and management, while cloud deployments reduce onsite effort.
  • Testing: Before go-live, validate behavior during outages (what is lost during a cloud outage vs. what remains available locally). Integrations partners are responsible for testing these scenarios.

The location endpoint runs on a workstation, so if that workstation loses power or network connectivity, failover to the local endpoint is not possible.
