Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Many site types use dynamic IP addressing for their workstations.

The EMC configuration must match the DHCP configuration, either by hostname or by assigning a fixed DHCP lease to the specified IP address. Oracle Simphony supports DHCP clients, and requires fixed IP leases and DNS resolution to be implemented.

While this is technically feasible, it is important to assess whether DHCP is suitable and scalable for the environment.
