Coding definition upgrade management
The Central Coding application codes requests to the dictionary type and version specified by the coding definition in use. To code requests against a new dictionary version, you must upgrade an existing coding definition and associate it with:
- The new dictionary version.
- An upgraded synonym list.
- New or upgraded assignment rules.

If you use auto-suggestions, after you upgrade a coding definition, the Central Coding application:
- Validates auto-suggestions for the original coding definition.
- Copies valid auto-suggestions to the new coding definition.
- Deletes invalid auto-suggestions.
Recoding a request against an upgraded coding definition may result in different coding results based on changes to synonyms, stopwords, or coding algorithms.
