Reconciling a verbatim

The Oracle Central Coding application applies the default reconciliation option to any verbatims that you do not explicitly reconcile. For more information, see Setting the default reconciliation options for verbatims.

  1. Select Coding Setup > Impact Analysis.
    The In Process page appears.
  2. Select a coding definition upgrade with a step and status of Reconcile—Not Started or Reconcile—In Process.
  3. Click the Reconcile button.
The Reconcile Verbatims page appears. For a description of the fields on this page, see Reconcile Verbatim page.
  4. Reconcile each verbatim:
    • To accept the original coding, select the value in the Original Code and Term column.

The selection is disabled if the original term or path no longer exists in the new dictionary.

    • To accept the new coding, select the value in the New Code and Term pcolumn.

If the Oracle Central Coding application was able to autocode the verbatim using the new coding definition during impact analysis, a code and term appear.

    • To interactively code the verbatim and its context items, click the Code link in the New Code and Term column.

The Coding Browser dialog box appears.

    • To return the verbatim to the coder's queue to be recoded, select Uncode.

The Accept Uncode column appears only if Allow Uncode is selected on the System Configuration page. For more information, see System Configuration page.

  5. To indicate that all the decisions for the verbatim are complete, select Done.
  6. To save your reconciliation selections, click the Approve All button.
    A confirmation dialog box appears.
  7. Click OK.

    The In Process page appears.

The Oracle Central Coding application applies your reconciliation selections only after you save the changes for the verbatims to the database.
