About upgrading the application server
You can perform an in-place upgrade from Central Designer 6.2.x and 6.3.x to Central Designer 6.3.2. However, you must migrate the database to Oracle 19c.
You can migrate to this release from Central Designer 2.1.2.x
Note: If you are using Central Designer 2.0.5.1 or 2.1.1.x, you must first upgrade to Central Designer 2.1.2 before migrating to Central Designer 6.3.2.
When you upgrade, you must:
- Create a new Oracle 19c database and migrate to it. For more information, see your Oracle database software documentation.
- Provide the database and user parameters that you entered when you created the new database and database user.
Time considerations
Because the upgrade updates every study in the database, upgrading from an earlier release could take some time, so plan the upgrade carefully. For example, Oracle expects that upgrading a database with 150 studies could take 10 - 15 hours or longer.
