Learn the details of performing a dose hold

Whether you're a site user or an investigator, dose holds give you the ability to pause dispensation of the investigational product within the boundaries that are defined in your study.

Before you begin performing any dose holds in a study, here are some considerations that you should take into account to make sure you have the best user experience while working with this feature.

Consideration Notes

Unblinding kits

Dose holds can be performed for both blinded and unblinded kits.

If a dose hold is required for an Unblinded Pharmacist type of kit, you must contact your pharmacist or unblinded site user at the site to pause the dispensation for that kit. The user interface also gives you a notice about this.

Limits on dose holds

If you reach the maximum number of dose holds for a certain type of kit, then that kit type is no longer displayed on the Dose Hold dialog for you to pause dispensation on. If you reach the maximum number of dose holds for every type of kit available in a study, then the Dose Hold button is no longer displayed in a visit.
