About test periods
Test periods let you test participants at a set frequency.
Testing frequency is up to you
- Invite all participants to receive tests.
- Invite participants based on the results of an initial test.
After the participant joins the test period, they remain in the test period, regardless of the results of future tests. For example, a participant might need a positive initial result to join, and they remain in the test period even if all subsequent test results are negative.
When to add participants
When the results of an initial test determines the participants who are invited, consider the following factors when planning when to add participants:
- If you're inviting all participants to receive tests, you can add participants to the system at any time.
- If the results of an initial test determine whether participants receive
tests, consider whether the lab sends the test results to Oracle COVID-19 Patient Monitoring
System:
- If the lab sends the test results to the system, the system automatically adds participants to the test period based on their test results. Therefore, you might want to add the participants to the system before the test results come in.
- If the test results are managed outside Oracle COVID-19 Patient Monitoring
System, you might want to add the participants after the test results
come in. When you build the CSV file with participant information,
you can include information about whether each participant is part
of a test period.
You can also add participants before the test results come in. However, after the test results come in, you have to manually add participants to the test period. Depending on the number of participants to add, this approach could take some time.
