About drug profiles and layouts

A drug profile is the presentation of statistical and other information about one or more drugs. A drug profile layout is a saved collection of charts, as well as their placement and display options.

A chart can be either of the following:

  • A graph based on the results of a data mining run.
  • A graphical or tabular report based on source data, showing distribution of cases by such variables as gender and age.

Charts in a drug profile layout can be for the same or different drugs. For example, a layout might include charts for the drug that you are studying and for comparator drugs.

Drug profile layouts are available on the Drug Profile page. If you have appropriate permissions, you can create new drug profile layouts.

To use drug profiles, you must have the View Drug Profiles permission and you must set a drug profile configuration as a user preference. The drug profile configuration determines which data mining runs are the source of charts that can be added to a drug profile layout. For information on setting up the drug profiles feature, see Set up drug profiles.
