Manage Topic Templates page

Topic templates can serve as the starting point for creating new topics. You can create, edit, and delete topic templates that can be used by designated work team members to pre-populate fields and actions in a standardized way.

If you have the Manage Topic Workflow Configurations permission, you can add and manage topic templates for a particular topic workflow configuration that is published to your login group.

General activities

The following links and filters appear at the top of the page and affect the entire page.

  • Add Topic Template adds another topic template to the topic workflow configuration.
  • Back returns you to the Edit Topic Workflow Configuration page.
  • Columns allows you to select the columns and sort order for the Manage Topic Templates page.
  • Print prints the Manage Topic Templates table or saves the table as a PDF version.
  • Download sends the Manage Topic Templates table to your PC in the format you specify.

Row-specific activities

The following menu options are available from the Row Action menu (Row Action menu icon), and affect an individual row in the table:

  • View to display the Topic Template General Information, Template Actions, and History of Topic Template General Information section of the selected topic template.
  • Edit to change the topic template's Topic Template General Information, Template Actions, and format of the History of Topic Template General Information section.
  • Copy an existing topic template using the Copy link in the Row Action menu. Template topic actions are included in the copy.
  • Delete a topic template without affecting topics created previously with that template.

Field descriptions—Manage Topic Templates page

This table describes the default fields displayed on the Manage Topic Templates page. To add columns, click the Columns link.

Field Description

ID

Identifier that was assigned automatically when the topic template was created. Each topic template ID is unique and is not re-used if the template is deleted.

Name

Name of the topic template.

Description

Description of the topic template.

Work Teams

Work teams whose members can use the topic template. If your topic workflow configuration is in zero, one, or more mode, the selected work teams value will be used as the default value when the topic is created.

Created By

Name of the user who created the topic template.

Assigned to

User or work team to whom the action is assigned, by default. By default, this field is set to (No Value).

Available users and work teams are determined by the Visible to work team selection.
  • Users: Members of the Visible to work team selection with Edit Topic/Action work team permission.
  • Work teams: All work teams with the Assign to work team property enabled and at least one active member in the Users list.

Created

Date and time when the topic template was created.

Modified By

Name of the user who last modified the topic template.

Modified

Date and time when the topic template was last modified.
