Banners

The Banners module allows you to create short messages that are displayed to Patient Portal users when they log into the Patient Portal or on other pages so that they know of important information such as closures or other urgent information.

You can view all banners, update banners, and create new banners.

To view the list of available banners, select Banners from the Global Settings module. The following information is displayed about each banner:

  • ID: The unique numeric number of the banner.
  • Name: The internal name for the banner.
  • Start Date: The date and time that the banner started (or will start) being displayed in the Patient Portal.
  • End Date: The date and time that the banner stopped (or will stop) being displayed in the Patient Portal.
  • Locations: The location of the banner in the Patient Portal. You can select whether to display it on the home page or on all pages of the Patient Portal.
  • Severity: The importance of the banner.
  • Dismissible: Whether Patient Portal users can hide the message from view after they have seen it or if the message continues to be displayed. If the Location is set to All Pages, the banner must be dismissible.
  • Missing Translations: Which available languages the banner has not been translated into.
  • Status: Whether the banner is active, in progress, or if it has expired. If a banner is active, it is currently being displayed in the Patient Portal, and you cannot update details except for the end date. If a banner is In Progress, the start date has not started yet and you can still edit the details, if necessary. If the banner is expired, the end date has passed.
