View Access Logs in Patient Portal

The access log displays a list of actions (called events) performed by you or your authorized representative in the health record.

Note:

Your organization might mark certain types of test results or vital signs as Sensitive. Sensitive information cannot be viewed by authorized representatives of protected minors. See the Access Sensitive Health Record Details topic for more information.
To view the Access Logs for an account:
  1. If you manage multiple connected health profiles, optionally switch to a different health profile.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Settings. The Settings menu is displayed.
  3. From the Settings menu, select Access Logs.
  4. Optionally, select Sort By
    Sort

    to sort by one of the following options:
    • Date range
    • User
    • Action (for example, Viewed, Downloaded, or Transmitted)
    • Data type (for example, Lab Results or Documents)

Note:

Access logs include information only for the currently selected profile. If you manage profiles for others, select the User menu to switch the user. Switching the user changes the page to display information for the selected person.
Access log details can include:
  • Who the record was accessed by (self or authorized representative)
  • What action was taken, such as:
    • Signed in
    • Viewed
    • Modified
    • Removed or deleted
    • Downloaded
    • Sent
  • The time the action was taken
  • The type of information being accessed, such as:
    • Access logs page (viewed)
    • Appointments (scheduled)
    • Allergies list (view)
    • Bill pay application (link accessed)
    • Conditions list (viewed)
    • Documents (list opened or document uploaded)
    • Health conditions list (viewed)
    • Immunizations list (viewed)
    • Inbox (viewed)
    • Laboratory results list (viewed)
    • Medications list (viewed)
    • Password reset (initial)
    • Patient Portal (signed in or accessed)
    • Procedures history list (viewed)
    • Questionnaires list (viewed)
    • Self-enrollment (disqualified attempt or successful self-enrollment)
    • Settings (viewed)
    • Social history list (viewed)
    • Today dashboard (viewed)
    • Video visit session (joined or accessed)
    • Visits (visit details opened from visit list)
    • Vital signs list (viewed)
When multiple accounts are connected:
  • Patients sees own actions and the actions of any authorized representatives who act on their behalf.
  • Authorized representatives see their own actions and the actions of the patient they represent (within authorized categories).
