Locate Real-World Data in Workbench

Use the Workbench Master Catalog to locate authorized Oracle Health Real-World Data (RWD) assets and review metadata before analysis.

The Master Catalog contains standard catalogs and external catalogs that organize schemas, tables, views, and volumes. In a notebook, users can browse the Mater Catalog or interact with workspace objects. These actions do not change catalog context and support permission-aware analysis.

To locate RWD using the Workbench Master Catalog:
  1. Sign in to Workbench and select a workspace for your analysis from the left navigation panel.
  2. Open the Master Catalog from the left navigation panel or the catalog area from the Workbench screen.
  3. Search or browse for the RWD asset you need for your analysis.
  4. Open the RWD asset details page by selecting the Details tab on the asset screen. You can review asset details like the metadata, model, version, permissions, and usage notes.
  5. Verify that the asset is appropriate for your analysis.
  6. Reference the RWD using the notebook's catalog browser . You can interact with RWD with the following actions:
    1. Drag and drop objects
    2. Copy and Paste: Copies the catalog, schema, and table in the schema and pastes that information into the notebook cell.
    3. Copy: Copies the object to your clipboard.
    4. Refresh: Refreshes the object data.
    5. Use available sample code

Access to Workbench data is dependent on your organization's configurations. Reach out to your database administrator for more information about your organizations configurations.
