OPERA Cloud Customer with a Single Global Enterprise ID

OPERA Cloud with a Global Enterprise ID consists of OPERA cloud environments deployed across different geographical regions sharing the same Enterprise ID and sharing the same OCI IAM Identity Domain. The pros and cons of having a global enterprise are listed below.

This diagram shows the Customer OCI IAM Identity Domain (Global).

Pros of a Single Global Enterprise

  • Unified Feature Access:

Supports OPERA Cloud Central features and enables the full power of a connected data experience.

  • Seamless User Access:

HQ users can access all OPERA Cloud environments using the same user credentials.

  • Simplified IAM Configuration:

Identity configurations in OCI IAM Identity Domain (for example, Identity Federation, Multi-Factor Authentication, IP-based access control ) are set up once and apply to all environments under the global Enterprise ID.
  • Flexible User Management:

Users can be transferred across chains or environments without the need to recreate user profiles.
  • Efficient SCIM API Usage:

Customers can use any OHIP gateway, and it will connect to the same OCI IAM Identity Domain for SCIM operations.

  • Centralized Property Management:

All properties globally are associated with a single enterprise, enabling Enterprise Management to centrally distribute and manage configurations.

  • Unified Reporting:

R&A GraphQL APIs can provide a consolidated, global data view across all properties.

Cons of a Single Global Enterprise

  • No Duplicate Property Codes:

Property codes must be unique across all OPERA Cloud environments within a single enterprise.
  • Lack of Physical Separation:

There is no physical separation of user security as all environments are linked to the same global OCI IAM Identity Domain even though business data is separated with regional OPERA Cloud environments.
