Products & Product Groups

The Products & Product Groups option displays the configuration of different products and product groups of your property.

From the Pricing main menu, select Products & Product Groups. The screen is split into Products and Product Groups. By default, the screen opens to display the list of all the products.

Prerequisites

Appropriate permissions are required to access the Products menu. From the Role Manager menu, select Role Permissions. The option accessible from the Pricing main menu is covered by the View Property Products and View Property Product Groups permission on the Channel Management module. For further information, see: Role Permissions.

Products Tab

The Product tab is open by default and shows all products of your property.

Managing Products

Use the filter by entering a code or description. Filtering starts as soon as you type text in the field.

Viewing Products

Select the View icon on the right-hand side of each product to view more details. The screen is split into Product Definition and Product Schedules.

Viewing Product Definition Tab

  • Code: Shows the unique code of the product.

  • Description: Shows the description of the product.

  • Short Description: Shows the short description of the product.

  • Sell Date Range: Shows the date range you can sell the product. If the product sell end date is in the past compared to your system date, it shows Sell Date has expired.

  • Sell Separate: Shows whether the product can be sold separately as an added element. When adding a package directly to a reservation, the room rate field shows the main rate plan rate and indicated to the right is the room rate including the packages added to the reservation. If Sell Separate is set to No, then this package can be set only on the Rate plan.

  • Posting Nights: Shows the stay nights for which the posting applies. This is displayed only when the posting rhythm is Custom Posting Schedule (Nights). Nights indicates the stay nights for which the posting applies. Posting Nights supports multiple Stay Nights from 1 to 14. For example, if the posting is applicable for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th stay nights, then the value in Posting Nights will be 3, 4, and 5.

  • Web Bookable: Shows whether the product is web bookable.

  • Transaction Code: Shows the posting transaction code of the product.

  • Currency: Shows the currency of the products. By default, it uses the property’s currency.

  • Calculation Rule: Shows the Calculation Rule of package amounts. It is either Flat Rate, Per Adult, Per Child, Per Person, or Per Room.

  • Posting Rhythm: Shows the posting rhythm of the package posting. By default, the Posting Rhythm is Post Every Night. Most posting rhythms are based on the actual arrival date of the reservation. If a custom posting rhythm is selected, you can view additional information:

    • When Posting Rhythm is Custom Posting Schedule (Based on Nights), the field Posting Nights appears and shows the stay nights the posting is applicable for. This supports multiple stay nights from one to 14. For example, if the posting is applicable for the 3rd, 4th and 5th stay nights, the value shows 3, 4, and 5.

    • When Posting Rhythm is Custom Posting Schedule (Based on Stay Days), the field Posting Stay Days appears and shows the stay days the posting is applicable for. This supports multiple stay days from one to 14. For example, if the posting is applicable for 1st and 3rd stay day, the value shows 1, 3.

    • When Posting Rhythm is applicable, Post on Every X Nights Starting Y Nights, Post Every, and Start on Night are visible under Posting Rhythm.

    • When Posting Rhythm is Post on Certain Nights of the Week, the field Posting Days shows the specified weekdays. This supports multiple weekdays, for example, Sun, Mon, and Wed.

Product Schedules Tab

Select the Product Schedules tab to view the schedules of your property.

Managing Product Schedules

Use the following to search.

  • Start Date: Select the start date.

  • End Date: Select the end date

Click Search to get search results. Only records matching the selected criteria appear. Click Reset to reset the search data and get the default display.

Viewing Product Schedules

  • Start Date and End Date: Shows the sell date range of the schedule. A badge definition “Sell Date has expired” is displayed if the Product sell end date is a past date compared to the Property Date. If the rate end date is in the past compared to your system date, it shows Sell Date has expired.

  • Price: Shows the price of the product.

  • Min – Max Nights:

    Shows the minimum and maximum number of reservation stay nights if the price is applicable.

  • Min – Max Guests: Shows the minimum and maximum number of guests required in reservation if the price is applicable.

  • Child 0-6 yrs Price: Shows the price for children with age of 0-6.

  • Child 7-12 yrs Price: Shows the price for children with age of 7-12.

  • Child 13-16 yrs Price: Shows the price for children with age of 13-16.

Product Group Tab

Select the Product Group tab to view the list and details of your groups.

Select the View icon on the right-hand side of each product group to view more details.

  • Code: Shows the unique code of the product group.

  • Description: Shows the description of the product group.

  • Short Description: Shows the short description of the product group.

  • Sell Separate: Shows whether the product group is separate sellable.

  • Web Bookable: Shows whether the product group is web bookable.

  • Products: Shows all products linked to the group.
